do you want to know my favorite thing about reading is that for me it’s so much more a dialogue than any other form of fiction consumption, like yeah, you analyze and interpret television and film and music, but when you’re reading it’s just you and the text blossoming open to each other, the author whispering all their thoughts into your ear and then you bringing them to life, i mean they give you the tools and then you build a whole world inside of you.
and your characters and scenery and performances and tones are always so remarkably different than mine because reading is so intimate and dynamically active— books need you to finish creating them
